Categories & sub-categories
Group FAQs into nested categories, drag them into order, and let readers browse from a dropdown or filter to one category.
For non-profits · Hosted by us or on your own domain
The FAQ knowledge base for non-profits — hosted by us, or on your own domain. Categories, tags, helpful votes and a search bar your supporters will actually use — on a NovaKnowledge subdomain with nothing to install, or on your own hosting under your own domain.
Constellation of features
Built for the volunteer who maintains the FAQ, not an IT department. Every feature is one setting or one click away.
Group FAQs into nested categories, drag them into order, and let readers browse from a dropdown or filter to one category.
Tags power search, click-to-filter chips, and the Related FAQs engine that ranks answers by shared tags and category.
Yes / No voting on every answer with the helpful percentage shown to readers and on your dashboard. One vote per IP, no addresses stored.
Live search across titles, descriptions and tags. Type #tag to search tags only. Bookmarkable filter URLs.
Pick Classic or Help Center, set one accent colour, add your logo or an emoji. Everything follows.
Steps, rich text, callouts, syntax-highlighted code, images with an annotator, and chunked video uploads up to 2 GB.
Password-gate the whole knowledge base or a single FAQ. Block search engines with one checkbox.
Take a NovaKnowledge subdomain and let us run everything, or run it on your own hosting at help.yourorg.org with our software and license. Either way, you just write answers.
Two looks, one switch
Both themes take their colours from a single accent you choose. Swap between them any time from Settings.
A bold accent hero with the search bar right underneath. Cards in a tidy grid, grouped by category.
A top bar with logo, search and a Browse categories dropdown. Breadcrumbs, tag chips and wide Yes / No buttons.
For the reader
Adopters, donors, volunteers, families — search finds it, tags connect it, Related FAQs keep them reading, and a helpful vote tells you what to improve next.
Live search across titles, descriptions and tags, or pick a category from the dropdown.
Clean article layout with steps, callouts, code, images and video. External links open in a new tab.
One tap says whether it helped. Related FAQs are ranked by shared tags and category.
Mission support
The parts of running a help center a non-profit never wants to think about are already handled.
yourorg.getnovakb.com, or on your own hosting under help.yourorg.orgCountdown
Hosting & pricing
Simple yearly pricing for non-profits. Every feature on this page is included either way — the difference is who runs the server.
yourorg.getnovakb.com
$12/ year
We host it on a NovaKnowledge subdomain with SSL, updates and backups handled. Nothing to configure.
help.yourorg.org
$49/ year
Run it on your own web hosting under your own domain or subdomain. You provide the hosting and SSL; we provide the software, the license and help getting it installed.
Naturally, we have one
Non-profits. Animal rescues, charities, community groups, faith organisations — anyone who answers the same questions over and over and would rather point people at a great answer.
Not if we host it: choose the $12 option and your knowledge base is live on a NovaKnowledge subdomain with nothing to download or maintain. If you prefer your own hosting, the $49 option gives you the software and a license, and we help you get it installed.
Hosted by us on yourorg.getnovakb.com is $12 a year. Running it on your own hosting under your own domain or subdomain is $49 a year, which covers the software and license. Every feature is included either way.
Ordinary shared web hosting with PHP 8.1 or newer, which is what most small non-profit websites already run on. You point a subdomain such as help.yourorg.org at it and enable SSL through your host. We walk you through the install.
Yes. Set the title, description, accent colour and logo (or an emoji) from Settings. You can also hide the title so only your logo shows in the header.
Search, category browsing, tag chips, and a Related FAQs block under every answer. Links inside answers open in a new tab so readers never lose their place.
No analytics scripts, no ad pixels. The only thing stored about a reader is an irreversible hash that keeps helpful votes to one per person.
Never. Export everything as a clean archive whenever you like. Your answers are yours.
A knowledge base your supporters will thank you for — hosted by us, or on your own domain.
